This bill takes a very large step towards making a positive change in the way several counties [Allegheny, Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware] in our state treats lost pets. Please take the time to write our government officials to demonstrate your support for this bill.
The letter below provided for your convenience as a sample that can get you started. Please say as much or as little as you want in your correspondence.

RE: House Bill 1193

House Bill 1193 would effectively expand the minimum holding period for an adoptable animal to at least 72 hours and should be used as a base model for all counties in Pennsylvania. However it is limited to only Second Class and Second Class A counties.

Legislation like this should be enacted state-wide as a comprehensive change to the PA Dog Law.

Please consider authoring and/or supporting a bill like this to change the way our pets are treated in every county of our state.

Sincerely,
